Enhanced TNG Card Sells Out Again Less Than Two Hours After Restock (UPDATE)

The new stock arrived slightly earlier than expected.

UPDATE [11:48 AM]: The card sold out again at around 11:45 AM, less than two hours after the restock took place. Scroll below for further details.

ORIGINAL STORY [11:17 AM]:

After being teased for quite some time, the NFC-enabled Touch ‘n Go card which is also known as the Enhanced TNG Card officially went on sale on 22 April. However, it only took mere hours for the stocks to run out.

Naturally, numerous enterprising individuals took advantage of the high demand by scalping the card at various e-commerce and marketplace platforms with an asking price that goes as high as RM100. As a comparison, the Enhanced TNG card costs exactly the same as the standard TNG card which is RM10.enhanced tng card nfc 01

Earlier this month, TNG eWallet customer service agents informed users on its Facebook page that the next batch of Enhanced TNG cards is expected to be available in June. If you have been defending yourself from the temptations, then you might be glad to know that the card is now available from the TNG eWallet once again.

We were first aware of this through a notification from the TNG eWallet app that we received on our phone just slightly after 10:00 AM today. We have also verified directly in the app that the card is still available for purchase as of 11:10 AM.Enhanced TNG Card 22 May Restock

As noted earlier, the Enhanced TNG card is priced at RM10 each. If you purchase it through the TNG eWallet app, there will be an additional shipping fee of RM5 and there is a limit of two units per customer.

To get your hands on the card via the app, tap on the TNG Card icon on its homepage and then locate the Order Touch ‘n Go Card / Check Status option on the middle section of the page. From there, you should be able to see the order page for the card and you can begin by tapping on the “Order Now” button.enhanced tng card

In case you missed the news and wondered what’s with all the ruckus regarding the Enhanced TNG card, it was due to the card’s NFC feature which allows users to top up its balance directly with their NFC-enabled phones. Outside of the NFC feature as well as its minimalistic design, the new card is no different from a standard TNG card.

UPDATE [11:48 AM]:

Once again, the Enhanced TNG card is selling like hotcakes. Less than two hours after the restock notification was pushed out by the TNG eWallet app, the out of stock notice appeared once again inside the app, as shown below:

This is despite TNG putting a limit of two cards for each order. At the moment, the company has yet to make any announcement or remarks regarding the next restock of the Enhanced TNG cards.

Hence, there is no clear indication of when exactly customers can order the card once again. So, if you missed your chance earlier today, do hit the “Yes, Notify Me” button inside the notice and keep a look out for future notifications from the TNG eWallet app.
