Kumpool, the bus e-hailing service that recently expanded into Petaling Jaya, is adding routes in the Kampung Tunku constituency. Previously, it was only available for areas under the Bukit Gasing constituency as well as Subang Jaya and Johor Bahru.
To commemorate the expansion, the Kampung Tunku constituency office will be subsidising the first 10,000 rides, allowing travellers to use the service for free in the area from 11 May until 11 July. State representative Lim Yi Wei said Kumpool has added 59 routes covering SS1, SS2, SS3, SS9A, Sea Park, and Paramount Garden that include LRT stations, mosques, and schools, essentially providing a feeder link.
Even after the 10,000 free rides are finished, commuters can still use the service for only RM1 to and from any of the stops provided during its pilot period. Users just need to download the app on either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and choose their pickup and drop-off locations.
The Kumpool service is available daily from 8 AM to 8 PM and only accepts cash payments. You will also be able to order a ride up to one day in advance and will be able to see the location of the bus in real-time.
