Almost two weeks after it was unveiled in China, the vivo X80 Series has made its official debut here in Malaysia. Available in two variants, both of them are being made available for pre-order from today itself.
Let’s start with the top-of-the-tier x80 Pro which comes with a price tag of RM4,999. Available in just Cosmic Black colourway, pre-order customers will be provided with a 50W wireless charger.
On the other hand, there is also the non-Pro variant that can be obtained for RM3,499. In addition to Cosmic Black, the standard X80 variant also comes in Urban Blue and vivo is offering its TWS 2e true wireless earbuds for pre-order customers.
Regardless of the model that you choose, the pre-order freebie set is also inclusive of a phone case, a 100-days 1-to-1 exchange guarantee, and a 1-year extended warranty for the phone’s battery. You can pre-order both the X80 Pro and standard X80 through vivo Malaysia E-Store as well as its official Lazada and Shopee stores.
If you are looking to save even further, vivo did offer special prices for the guests at the launch event. With 100 units being made available for each variant, you scan the QR codes above if you want to get the X80 Pro at RM4,399 or RM3,099 for the X80.
Unlike in China whereby the phone is also available with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip, the Malaysian variant of the X80 Pro can only be obtained with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. As for the standard X80 model, the variant released in our market still carries the Dimensity 9000 chip but nevertheless, both of them have been equipped with vivo V1+ custom imaging chip.
Both devices also feature 12GB of RAM, 256GB internal storage, and a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. However, the screen on X80 Pro has a native resolution of 3200 x 1400 while the resolution on the standard X80 is 2400 x 1080.
Even though they carry the same 32MP selfie camera, their rear camera modules are slightly different from the other. The X80 Pro features a 50MP Samsung GNV sensor and f/1.75 lens on its main camera alongside a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor and f/2.2 lens inside its ultra-wide camera as well as a gimbal-based 12MP Sony IMX663 portrait camera and 8MP SK Hynix Black Pearl Hi-847 periscope camera with 5x optical zoom.
On the standard X80, there is still a 50MP f/1.75 main camera but the sensor is a Sony IMX866 RGBW instead. Accompanying the main camera is ultra-wide and portrait cameras that are using 12MP Sony IMX663 on each of them while the ZEISS T* lens coating comes standard across both Pro and non-Pro models.
Last but not least, the X80 Pro and standard X80 also differ in terms of their battery and charging capability. The Pro model has a 4700mAh battery as opposed to the standard model’s 4500mAh battery and while both of them support an 80W FlashCharge charger, the 50W Wireless FlashCharge capability is exclusive to the X80 Pro.
