BMW Malaysia has announced that its all-electric BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport is now available for pre-booking. The automaker first unveiled the EV during its NEXTGen Malaysia event which was held this year back in January.
The new BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport comes with a rear-wheel drive layout, featuring a single motor that delivers a maximum output of 250 kW (340 hp) and 430 Nm of torque to its rear wheels. This enables it to achieve a claimed 0 – 100 km/h sprint time of 5.7 seconds, and an electronically-governed top speed of 190 km/h.
Powering the EV is an 83.9 kWh battery which offers up a travel distance of 590 km (based on the WLTP cycle) on a full charge. Speaking of which, the BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport is designed to be compatible with the latest charging technology, with support of up to 200 kW DC fast-charging which can top-up the vehicle from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes. Meanwhile, its 11 kW integrated AC charger is capable of completely juicing its battery to 100% in just 8 hours 15 minutes).
Equipped with the M Sport package, this particular variant of the BMW i4 eDrive 40 features the automaker’s Laserlights with automatic high-beam control on its front profile, 19-inch M Aerodynamic wheels, M Sport brakes, and M high-gloss Shadow Line decor on both sides. The EV will be in Black Sapphire, Mineral White and Dravit Grey in its first selection, with additional colours such as Sanremo Green, M Portimao Blue and M Brooklyn Grey (replacing Dravit Grey) to be added later in the year.
For its interior, the cabin of the BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport is decked out with the Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite interior trim, M Anthracite headliner, M leather steering wheel, an instrument panel in Sensatec, 17-speaker Harman Kardon surround system, as well as a curved screen that combines the 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch control display. Also onboard are a variety of features such as variable sports steering, electric seat adjuster with memory function, Live Cockpit Professional, ConnectedDrive services, Intelligent Emergency Call, and a slew of safety systems. Buyers may choose between Black, Mocha or Tacora Red colour options for the internal Vernasca leather material.
The new BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport can be pre-booked now and is priced at RM 389,800 (OTR, without insurance), with the option to own it via a monthly instalment starting from RM 4,306 (based on estimates of an 80% loan on a five-year tenure) through the BMW Group’s Easy Drive Financing Plan.
