Samsung has announced that its new Smart Monitor M8 is slated to be released in Malaysia next month. The product is the latest entry to the brand’s Smart Monitor series that debuted back in 2020 with the M7 and M5 models, which are available in varying display sizes.
The new M8, on the other hand, is only available in a 32-inch model. Its display packs a 4K 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution, with a 16:9 aspect ratio, HDR10 support, 400 nits brightness, 99% sRGB colour range, 60Hz refresh rate, and 4ms response time. Besides that, the monitor also comes with a magnetic SlimFit webcam with face tracking, a USB-C port that supports 65W fast charging, and a built-in stand with adjustable height and tilt.
For those unfamiliar with the series, the Smart Monitor lineup is pretty much Samsung’s answer to Apple’s iMac devices – a do-it-all display that offers a wireless IoT hub, built-in apps for productivity and web browsing, video conferencing capabilities, as well as a variety of onboard over-the-top (OTT) media services including Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV and more. All of which are accessible via WiFi without having to connect to a PC or TV.
In addition, Smart Monitors – including the M8 model – come with wireless mouse and keyboard support, and a remote control is also included in the box for its integrated TV functionality. While the new model comes in four different colourways for the global market, Samsung Malaysia’s website reveals that the white version is currently the only option available.
The Samsung Smart Monitor M8 is expected to be available in Malaysia this April at a recommended retail price of RM 3,488. Pre-orders for the new do-it-all display are now open via the brand’s official online store until 6 April 2022, where buyers are also entitled to receive complimentary Samsung accessories worth RM947, including the Smart Keyboard Trio 500, Bluetooth Mouse Slim, and Buds Live earbuds.
