Aspiring wizards and witches on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, as well as PC are already looking forward to starting their adventures in Portkey Games and WB (Warner Bros.) Games Avalanche’s Hogwarts Legacy. This is especially after the release of a very lengthy gameplay reveal video on video during last week’s State of Play showcase by Sony. Thankfully, those on the Nintendo Switch will be delighted to know that they’re not left out from the developer and publisher’s sorting hat.
As revealed by the Wizarding World-based video game’s FAQ page on its official website, gamers on the hybrid console will also get to enjoy it at the same time as those on the other platforms in late 2022. Specifically, the developer states that Hogwarts Legacy “will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One consoles, Nintendo Switch and PC.” Further confirming this is the inclusion of the hybrid console’s logo at the bottom of the game’s website.
When the game was officially unveiled in September 2020, most have speculated that the game will certainly be made available on last and current generation consoles as well as on PC. Naturally, the possibility of Hogwarts Legacy making its way on the Switch was thought to be unlikely, as the title has been shown to feature high-end graphics that may exceed its hardware capabilities.
The worst case scenario being that the developer and WB Games may instead release it on the hybrid console as a cloud-based version, much like Remedy’s Control and Capcom’s Resident Evil 7. Fortunately, this isn’t the case, as seen on a listing on Amazon which revealed the cover art and jewel case for the game – solidifying its full-fledged release on the Nintendo Switch.
Of course, this isn’t the first time that supposedly demanding games have been ported over to the console. Chief of which being the original 2016 Doom reboot and its sequel Doom: Eternal, as well as other titles such as Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and The Witcher 3. Like the aforementioned games, Hogwarts Legacy’s availability on the Switch also means that you can continue your progress wherever and whenever you like, thanks to its portability feature.
We've seen this question coming up and want to set the record straight.
There are no microtransactions in Hogwarts Legacy.

Last but not least, to whom it may concern, rest assured that the upcoming Wizarding World game will not feature any kind of in-game microtransactions of any kind. This particular detail was recently confirmed by WB Games Avalanche community manager Chandler Wood on Twitter.
