Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) has gained a lot of traction within the fintech industry here in Malaysia as quite a number of such services have been popping up for the past few years. Among them is IOUpay’s myIOU which was just launched back in June last year but is already servicing 61,000 users and more than 3,000 merchant partners throughout Malaysia to date.
IOU Pay today has officially revealed the revamped interface for the app which the company dubbed as the “myIOU 2.0”. That being said, the actual software version as noted on the Google Play and App Store listings is actually v3.00.
The biggest change that IOU Pay has made to the app is its home screen which now provides more visibility to myIOU’s services, merchants, and promotions. The BNPL outfit described said that the minimalist design of the new UI is intended to enhance user experience and navigation.
According to Gwen Khor, the Head of Marketing for IOU Pay, the unveiling of the new interface is just the beginning of what the company has planned for myIOU as it is looking to expand the service to other markets within Southeast Asia. While the timeline of the expansion was not revealed today, the CFO of IOU Pay Kenneth Kuan listed Indonesia and the Philippines as the potential markets.
Meanwhile, IOU Pay has also organised the myIOU Dream Town showcase at IOI City Mall Putrajaya in conjunction with the launch of the new interface. Happing until this coming Sunday, 20 March, the showcase allows the public to have a hands-on BNPL experience powered by myIOU with the help of its retail partners including All IT Hypermart, Brooks, and Gintell.
