Even though it was only last month that Samsung had its big Galaxy S22 Series launch event, the company is back once again today by unveiling the three higher-end models for the 2022’s Galaxy Series lineup. They consist of the Galaxy A33 5G, Galaxy A53 5G, and Galaxy A73 5G which will be released in Malaysia very soon.
In general, it seemed that Samsung has retained the same design language as their 2021 predecessors. This is with the exception of the Galaxy A33 which now follows the general design of Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73.
One of the easiest ways to differentiate them apart is their screen size. For starters, the Galaxy A33 is equipped with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ 90Hz Super AMOLED Infinity-U display while the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73 carry 6.5 and 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED Infinity-O displays, respectively.
While all three of them do feature a quad-camera module on their back, their actual setup is fairly different from each other. The Galaxy A33 offers 48MP f/1.8 as its main camera alongside an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, 5MP f/2.4 macro camera, and 2MP f/2.4 depth camera as opposed to Galaxy A53 which has a 64MP f/1.8 main camera, 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, 5MP f/2.4 macro camera, and 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor.
On the hand, the Galaxy A73 is equipped with the same ultra-wide camera, macro camera, and depth sensor as per Galaxy A53 but features a 108MP f/1.8 main camera instead. When it comes to selfies, the Galaxy A33 relies on a 13MP f/2.2 camera while Samsung has opted for a 32MP f/2.2 selfie camera for Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73.
Another factor that set them apart is their processor whereby the Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53 come with Samsung’s own Exynos 1280 processor but the company has chosen the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G to power the Galaxy A73. In Malaysia, 8GB of RAM comes as standard for all three models but the Galaxy A33 receives 128GB internal storage while 256GB storage is reserved for Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73.
Aside from the similar amount of RAM, all three models are also IP67-certified and feature a 5000mAh battery with the support for a 25W fast charger. Price-wise, you can obtain the Galaxy A33 5G in Malaysia for RM1,499.
If you prefer the higher-end model, the Galaxy A53 5G can be yours for RM1,849 while the top-of-the-line Galaxy A73 5G is available for RM2,099. Samsung somehow stopped short of revealing the release date for Malaysia but on the global level, these new Galaxy A phones will be heading to consumers in April.
Meanwhile, don’t forget to take a closer look at all three phones through our first hands-on experience with them right here. We will keep you posted once we receive the information regarding their launch date in Malaysia from Samsung.
