Seagate officially launched a new Beskar Ingot-themed storage lineup, inspired by the Star Wars online TV series, The Mandalorian. As its name suggests, the special edition FireCuda storage drives sport the Beskar Ingot skin, complete with the stamp of the Empire at the corner of each storage unit.
In total, these Damascus Steel-inspired FireCuda storage mediums come in three varieties: an external HDD, SATA SSDs, and M.2. Of course, it goes without saying that these skins are purely cosmetic and do not enhance the performance of these storage devices in any way, shape, or form. On the subject of cosmetics, it should be noted that the external HDD does have an RGB LED built-in, but for this model, you also get a special blue hue, inspired by the series. Capacity-wise, there is only the 2TB variant.
As for the SATA SSD, it is available in either 1TB or 2TB capacities and unlike the external HDD, it is devoid of any RGB LEDs. Then again, we don’t think you would have any need for such aesthetics, especially if the component is going to be kept out of sight anyway. Moving on, the same principle of simplicity has also been applied to the M.2 NVMe FireCuda Edition SSD; the provided heatsink shows the same Beskar Ingot design, making it an enticing must-have component for fans of the bounty hunter series. Storage-wise, consumers have a choice between 500GB and 1TB.
At the time of writing, Seagata did not specify local availability or pricing.
