Halo Infinite is definitely being carried by its free-to-play multiplayer component. While the campaign wasn’t necessarily bad, it was pretty cookie-cutter, and once you’re done with the story, there’s basically nothing left to do. Things can potentially be different if the campaign supported multiplayer, and it looks like such a feature is in the pipelines.
In a blog post, 343 Industries says that it is working on adding multiplayer for up to four players to the campaign of Halo Infinite. Work on this started in tandem with the free PvP multiplayer component’s Season Two. But as luck would have it, they won’t ship at the same time. While Season Two starts on 3 May, the campaign multiplayer will come at a later date.
The blog post itself mainly addresses other multiplayer issues which 343 is handling. Naturally, number one on this list is addressing critical issues on the free PvP multiplayer component. Second is shipping Season Two, and the campaign mulitplayer component is only coming in at number three.
If you have played the Halo Infinite campaign, and have other friends who have done the same, then this may be something to look forward to. Otherwise, the free component is still where the life of the game is.
