Made its global debut last month, HMD Global has now announced the arrival of the Nokia G21 in Malaysia. Available for pre-order right away, the new phone is essentially an upper entry-level model powered by a Unisoc Tiger T606 processor.
Just like its predecessor G20, the new G21 still carries a 6.5-inch HD+ display although the new model offers adaptive refresh rate capability of up to 90Hz as well as 180Hz touch sampling rate. The Malaysian variant also carries 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.
In terms of photography, HMD Global has retained some of the setups from G20 for G21 including a 2MP macro camera, 2MP depth sensor, and 8MP selfie camera. When it comes to differences, the G21 features a slightly higher-resolution 50MP main camera but didn’t have an ultra-wide camera as per the G20.
Completing G21’s general specifications is a 5050mAh battery which is similar to G20 as well although the new model supports a slightly higher charger rating at 18W. That being said though, the charger that HMD Global has provided in the box for G21 is still rated at 10W.
Priced at RM799, the Nokia G21 is readily available for pre-order from 3 to 9 March for a slightly lower price of RM759 through Nokia Mobile’s official Shopee store. The phone will be released to participating retail stores from 10 March onwards.
