Apple has confirmed the date for its first launch event in 2022 which is happening on 8 March at 10 AM PST or 2 AM Malaysian time on 9 March. The upcoming spring event is titled Peek Performance, which isn’t a typo, but might show us a glimpse into what we can expect from other upcoming products later in the year.
While nothing has been confirmed by the company itself, analysts such as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predict that the event will see Apple unveil a new MacBook Pro and Mac mini powered by the long-awaited M2 chip. The tech giant is reportedly planning to release several new Macs in stages this year to finally complete its computer lineup’s transition from Intel CPUs to its in-house Apple Silicon.
The upcoming launch is also expected to introduce the third-generation iPhone SE and a new iPad Air, both with 5G connectivity. Once again, the new SE is speculated to retain the same iPhone 8 design with Touch ID but will receive upgraded internals such as a faster processor.
Similar to previous launches, the announcement of the event is also accompanied by a specially-made AR object that you can activate when you visit the Events section of Apple’s website using the Safari browser on iPhone and iPad. Here is a preview of it as shared by the company’s SVP of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak on Twitter:

As with previous Apple launch events for the past two years, Peek Performance will be once again a digital-only event. Apple fans and enthusiasts out there can catch the live event through the Apple TV app on their devices or Apple’s website.
