Sony’s Xperia 1 line of phones have carried the same design language for the longest time. The current entry, the Xperia 1 III, looks pretty much like its predecessor. And it looks like the successor, the Sony Xperia 1 IV, will be mostly similar as well according to a render of the device that made its way online.
Tipster OnLeaks shared renders of what is claimed to be the Xperia 1 IV with GizNext, showing what the device looks like. And as mentioned, it looks like pretty much every other Xperia 1 that came before it. It has the volume rocker, fingerprint sensor power button, and the physical camera shutter all on the right side. Op top is the ever rare 3.5mm audio jack.
GizNext also reports that the Sony Xperia 1 IV will also come with a 6.5-inch display. No other items on the spec sheet was mentioned, but Android Authority cites a tipster on Weibo who has made some claims to that end. Among them include up to 16GB of RAM, a choice of 256GB or 512GB of storage, and a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W charging. Then there’s also the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
As for when the Sony Xperia 1 IV will be announced, rumour points towards one happening in May. Availability will probably be a couple of months after, if the situation with the Xperia 1 III is any indication.
