The sharing of screenshots from your console mostly involves transferring them to a PC first, unless you tie a Twitter account to your PlayStation. Soon, the PS App on Android and iOS will be another alternative avenue for sharing your video game screenshots.
That being said, this new feature looks to only apply to the PS5. According to the announcement, whenever you manually take a screenshot, you can have that automatically accessible via the PS App as well. These will be available for you to share to the social media platform of your choice, or download to your phone. These also apply to gameplay clips of Full HD resolution, and with a duration of three minutes or less.
We’re gradually rolling out the ability to share your PS5 game captures through PS App in more regions! Americas are first up, with more countries next month. Details: https://t.co/yskER3hn8t pic.twitter.com/8sfrm6PZZj

While it’s convenient for those who like to immediately share their gaming moments, there are quite a few limitations to it. One, your screenshots and clips are only accessible via the PS App for 14 days, after which they will be wiped from the cloud storage that makes it happen. Two, you can’t manually pick what you want to be uploaded from your PS5 to the PS App.
For what it’s worth, this is not a PS Plus exclusive feature, so anyone can make use of it when it becomes available. You can find out more about the feature by hitting the link below, although unfortunately it does not say when it will be available for use here.
