POCO has recently confirmed that two new smartphones, the X4 Pro 5G and a 4G LTE variant of the M4 Pro, will see a global launch next week on 28 February 2022. However, details and images of the former has made its way online early, thanks to a leaked listing of the handset on Amazon France which has now been deleted.
Based on the images from the leak, the POCO X4 5G is shown to feature a flat display with slim bezels and a top-centered camera cutout, a flat-edged frame, and a wide island on its rear plate that houses a triple camera setup. The phone is also revealed to be available in three colour options: yellow, blue, and black.
As for specifications, Pocket Lint, which first reported the leak, says that the POCO X4 Pro 5G is equipped with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. Powering the phone is a 5G-enabled 6nm octa-core Snapdragon 695 chipset, along with 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging capability.
On the back of the X4 Pro 5G is the aforementioned triple camera setup which consists of a 108MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro. Much like last year’s POCO M4 Pro 5G, this model also comes with faux camera holes (one of which houses the flash module), which gives the illusion of featuring more than three rear shooters. Cheeky.
Pricing-wise, Pocket Lint reports that the new POCO phone is expected to retail around EUR 350, but we’ll only know for certain when the X4 Pro 5G is officially launched – the same can be said for its specifications and such. That being said, the event will be streamed live next Monday at 8pm via the brand’s official website, YouTube channel, as well as its social media pages on Facebook and Twitter.
