OPPO has officially unveiled its own tablet offering, known as the OPPO Pad. According to the brand’s social media post on Weibo, the new product is set to launch alongside the upcoming Find X5 flagship smartphone in China on 24 February 2022.
From the teaser images, it is revealed that the new tablet will arrive in a compact size – much like the iPad mini. The OPPO Pad’s similarities with Apple’s own doesn’t end there though, as the tablet is also shown to sport a flat-edged frame and a familiar-looking rear panel, along with a single camera setup. But what sets it apart is the glossy letters that make up OPPO’s branding on one side of its back. It is also revealed that the tablet will be offered in black and purple colour options.
As usual, the teasers did not provide much information regarding the tablet’s specifications. However, a listing of the OPPO Pad on Chinese e-commerce site JD.com reveals that it will feature a 120Hz display, a Snapdragon 870 chipset, and a battery with 8,760 mAh capacity.
Besides that, the company also unveiled the new OPPO Pencil which, as you may have guessed, is a stylus accessory that is designed to work together with the upcoming tablet. It is not clear whether the Pencil will be included together with the OPPO Pad, or is sold separately.
As mentioned earlier, the OPPO Pad will officially launch this Thursday in China. It is also possible that the company may debut the tablet together with the Find X5 flagship during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, which is slated to take place next week on 28 February.
