Recently there have been a number of new studios founded by industry veterans sprouting up. Prominent examples include the likes of Dreamhaven and That’s No Moon, with the most recent example being Nagoshi Studio. There’s a new one to add to the list, called Rebel Wolves.
This new studio is led by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who spent 17 years at CD Projekt before this. Other members of Rebel Wolves include industry veterans who have contributed to The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Thronebreaker and Shadow Warrior 2.
Rebel Wolves is also already working on its first game, a dark fantasy RPG title. Its story will be written by Jakub Szamalek who also contributed to Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3. The game will be made using Unreal Engine 5.
Describing the world the studio intends to create, Tomaszkiewicz says that “we want to create the feeling of a pen and paper RPG session, where your options seem limitless, where the world reacts to your choices, where every choice matters”. He also claims that it will not have NFTs or metaverses “ever”.
Even if the studio is already working on a new game, considering Rebel Wolves is still fresh off the oven, it will be awhile before it announces the project officially. The likes of the aforementioned Dreamhaven would probably get there first.
