Officially unveiled alongside a slew of new products including the forthcoming Redmi Note 11 series is Redmi’s latest TWS earbuds, the Buds 3 Lite. This particular model features an entry-level price tag, a stemless design and long lasting battery, but lacks certain bells and whistles such as active noise cancelling (ANC).
The new Redmi Buds 3 Lite is equipped with Xiaomi Sound Lab-tuned 6mm drivers which delivers audio from connected devices via Bluetooth 5.2 transmission. While it lacks ANC capabilities, the device does come with noise cancelling for calls which uses the built-in microphones and noise-reduction algorithm to filter out external noises from the user’s voice.
Despite the more affordable price tag, Redmi did not skimp out on including touch-based controls on the Buds 3 Lite, which is quite impressive. Besides that, the device also comes with fast pairing capability, a low latency mode for gaming, as well as an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
Battery-wise, Buds 3 Lite can last up to 5 hours per charge, totalling up to 18 hours of usage via the included charging case. Redmi claims that each bud takes 1.5 hours for a full charge when stored within the case, whereas the case itself takes about 2 hours for a full recharge via USB-C.
The new earbuds are available in White and Black colour options, and are offered together with extra ear holders and eartips of different sizes. In Malaysia, the Redmi Buds 3 are priced at RM99, but the company has yet to confirm its expected availability at this time.
