ASUS recently announced the 2022 lineup of its ROG Strix Scar laptop series for the Malaysian market. First announced during its CES 2022 presentation, the latest models in the lineup are refreshed to house the latest hardware, both from Intel and NVIDIA.
Specs-wise, all SKUs of the ROG Strix Scar 15 and Scar 17 are fitted with the latest Intel 12th generation Core i9-12900H CPU. Featuring 14-cores and 20-threads (six P-Cores and 8 E-Cores), the processor has a maximum turbo boost of 5GHz. As for its GPU, users will have a choice between an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8GB or RTX 3080 Ti 16GB, both of which have a maximum graphics TGP of 150W.
Moving on, both the Scar 15 and Scar 17 display will be available in two sizes: 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch. Regardless of size, all units share the same maximum display resolution of 1440p (2560 x 1440), as well as the same 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time.
Other specifications include 32GB of DDR5-4800 dual-channel memory, up to 2TB of NVMe Gen4 storage (1TB for Scar 15 models), Wi-Fi 6E, a healthy number of USB-C and USB-A ports, 90 WHr 4-cell battery, and a per-key RGB chiclet keyboard.
In terms of availability, the 15.6-inch model of the ROG Strix Scar 15 model is already on sale and retails for RM10699. As for the other three SKUs, ASUS says that they will be available from March onwards, although it did not provide specific dates.
