On the same day as its Unpacked event, Samsung is rolling out a new update to the Galaxy Watch4 that adds a lot of new health and wellness features. It’s also introducing a collaboration with Chris Hemsworth’s fitness app Centre to provide body composition insights, with a 30-day trial for new users who own a Watch4 instead of the usual seven days.
The smartwatch now has a new interval target feature for running and cycling, letting users to pre-set the duration, distance, and number of sets. It will then guide you with a custom intensity training session that will alternate between high and low-intensity workouts.
The update also comes with new sleep tracking capabilities that include a sleep coaching program for better sleeping habits. Over seven days, the Watch4 will track users’ sleep patterns and will then assign one of eight adorable sleep symbol animals that represent your sleeping type.
Based on your profile, it will coach you for four to five weeks through missions and checklists to improve your sleep quality. SmartThings-enabled lights will also turn off automatically when it detects that the user has fallen asleep.
Aside from new watch faces, the company is also offering new strap colours for purchase, as well as fabric bands and link bracelets, although the new watch accessories are not yet available in Malaysia. To update the Samsung Galaxy Watch4, open up the Galaxy Wearable app while the watch is connected to your phone and initiate the update in the watch settings.
