AMD’s rumour mill has been churning hard of late, the latest gossip pertaining to a new desktop graphics card. Specifically, the word is that the card is a Radeon RX 6950XT and that it will be landing sometime in April this year.
The rumour first came about via YouTuber coreteks, who is known for having correctly predicted the arrival and existence of multiple AMD Radeon products and software features. Details about the 6950XT’s hardware specifications are, as you can imagine, still scarce, but based on what has been floating around the internet, the card could ship out with 18Gbps, up from 16Gbps of the 6900XT.
6950XT is planned for mid-april. There's no 6850XT etc as far as I know 🤷

On paper, that’s should translate to a 12.5% improvement over the 6900XT, though at this point, there’s no indication as to just how much of an improvement that is going to be over team green’s own top-tier GeForce RTX 30 series or even Intel’s yet-to-be-released ARC Alchemist graphics card. On another note, coreteks also said that it doesn’t appear that a Radeon RX 6850XT is in the pipeline, meaning that the 6950XT could be the only Navi 21 card that will be getting a refresh.
Again, there’s still not a whole lot of information and as with all rumours, anything about the specifications for the 6950XT could change at a moment’s notice. With that said, we’ll just have to wait for more rumours on the matter to crop up.
