Grand Theft Auto V was released all the way back in September 2013, so we’re a year and a half short of a full decade since its release. Which is a massive gap between the last game and the next, to say the least. Rockstar Games has confirmed that it’s working on the next title in the series, probably to ease concerns that the company is ending things with the current entry.
That being said, even that is just a small part of a statement that generally addresses the content situation with Grand Theft Auto V and its Online component. No details has been shared beyond the fact that development of GTA 6 in underway. You can scroll all the way down to the last paragraph of the article to see it for yourself.
Beyond that, as mentioned, it’s mostly about GTA V and GTA Online. For the former, a new version is about to be released for the current generation consoles. This will be coming on 15 March, and will have features like ray tracing, 4K resolution, HDR and all the other good stuff you’d expect. There’s also a one-time migration to move your previous generation console’s save file to the newer machine.
Overall, it’s still quite a long way to go before the next Grand Theft Auto game will be announced. A previous rumour pegged it to only be released in 2025. But VGC reports that a Take-Two Interactive financial guidance pegs the new GTA game to be released in March of 2024.
