Earlier this month, publisher 505 Games announced that it will be releasing Death Stranding Director’s Cut on PC in spring 2022. Which is a pretty wide window, and not particularly a useful measure of time for places without four seasons. Now, the publisher has a specific date as to when it will be releasing the Hideo Kojima game.
On its blog, 505 Games announced quite the slew of information about the PC release of Death Stranding Director’s Cut. It includes the aforementioned release date, which is 30 March. The post also mentions the ability to upgrade to the director’s cut from the base game, if you already own that.

Then there’s the minimum and recommended PC specs for the game. Which hasn’t changed at all compared to the requirements of the base game. Which is great news, since upgrading during a chip shortage isn’t exactly affordable, even if you can find parts you want.
And finally, to entice newcomers to the game, 505 Games also announced that the base game will be getting a 70% price cut during the Steam Lunar New Year sale. Which, starts later today, coincidentally. So even if you buy the base Death Stranding first and then upgrade to the director’s cut later, it will probably be substantially cheaper than getting the whole thing later.
