The last game in the Crysis series, not counting the recent remasters, was Crysis 3 from all the way back in 2013. Almost nine years later, Crytek has announced that the game will be getting a fourth instalment. Though that being said, it’s still a long way away from being ready.
As the Crytek says on its own blog, Crysis 4 is still “in the early stages of development so it will be a while yet”. Then there’s the usual promise of releasing more information when they are ready. The dev team is also hiring more people to help make it happen, with the blog post itself containing the link to the company’s career page.
We're excited to announce we’re working on the 4th instalment in the Crysis series. We want you to join us on our journey and become the hero you were destined to be.

There’s also a teaser on Twitter, which doesn’t really show much. The 47-second clip starts of with a lot of flashing images, then a showcase of the Crysis Nanosuit tech that we’ve seen in previous games, which then culminates in the number four.
In some ways, this is good news, especially for fans of the series. After all, as mentioned, the last entry was almost nine whole years ago. Though it will be a couple of years more before Crysis 4 becomes a game that you can buy.
