While Valve would almost never announce upcoming Steam sales, these days it’s not too unusual to have them revealed via leaks. The couple of sales at the tail end of last year were revealed by the company’s own sales and marketing documents. Valve has locked those documents down tighter than before, but the dates for the Steam Lunar New Year Sale still made their way out.
According to SteamDB, the sale in question will be coming in on 28 January, after taking timezone differences into account. Steam is having its Lunar New Year sale a little earlier than the actual day itself, which starts on 1 February. While SteamDB attributes the source of the date as simply a leak, it’s not unreasonable to think that it came from the same source as before.
Since this sale comes less than a month after the last one, which was the Winter Sale, chances are we’ll be seeing very similar deals. Which would be a chance for you to snag some of the stuff you were taking too long to decide whether to get or not.

To reiterate, the Steam Lunar New Year Sale is expected to start on 28 January. The expected end date is stated as 3 February, with timezones being what they are, it’s just as likely to last a day longer for us on this side of the globe.
