Realme has officially unveiled the Realme 9i in Malaysia, its first entry-level smartphone for 2022. The new handset is slated to go on sale later this month on 22 January, with pre-orders available starting today via the brand‘s official online store on Shopee.
The Realme 9i is equipped with a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with a variable refresh rate of up to 90Hz, 1080 x 2412 pixel resolution, and a punch-hole camera cutout on the upper left corner. It also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, a USB-C 2.0 port for file transfer and charging, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

As with other recently released smartphones from the brand, the new Realme 9i also features the useful Dynamic RAM Expansion tool.
Powering the device is a large 5,000mAh battery, which is often considered as the standard capacity for most entry-level to mid-range models nowadays. Complementing it is the brand’s 33W Dart Charge fast-charging technology, which is touted to fully top-up the phone’s battery in just 70 minutes.
Photography-wise, on the back of the phone is a triple camera setup which consists of a 50MP primary shooter, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. Meanwhile, housed in the display’s punch-hole cutout is a 16MP front-facing camera. For video, both of its front and back imaging systems are capable of recording 1080p at 30 fps.
The new Realme 9i is priced at RM799 for the 4GB + 128GB configuration, and RM869 for the 6GB + 128GB. In terms of colour choices, the smartphone is offered in either Prism Blue or Prism Black.
