HONOR officially confirmed that it will be launching its first ever foldable smartphone, known as the Magic V, in a couple of days time. Just recently, the company has decided to provide a first look at the forthcoming device via an Esquire China social media post on Weibo.
Apart from revealing its exterior design, the phone is also shown to sport an orange faux leather rear case. This, therefore, confirms that the HONOR Magic V will be available in different finishes, as the company had revealed the phone to feature a glass case in the launch date announcement a few days prior.
As showcased in the photo, the Magic V will feature an outward-folding design, much like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, Huawei Mate X2, and OPPO Find N. On the back of the phone is a protruding island that houses a triple camera setup, and it appears that both the volume rocker and lock button are located on its right-hand side.
Unfortunately, its front design is still a mystery at this time, and the same can be said regarding most of its specifications as well. However, HONOR did officially confirm previously that the Magic V will be its first flagship device to be equipped with the newly unveiled Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 high-end chipset.
Meanwhile, on the unofficial side of things, leaksters claim that the new foldable comes with a 120Hz external display, a 90Hz internal display, a 50MP primary camera, and 66W fast charging support. As usual, we will only find out whether these details are accurate when HONOR officially launches the phone.

Speaking of which, the new Honor Magic V is slated to launch via a live online broadcast on 10 January at 11:30am UTC (7pm local time). Naturally, it is expected that the company will also reveal the device’s pricing and date of availability by then.
