MSI, like any other brand in its league, is getting ready to announce an entirely new portfolio for 2022 during its CES 2022 presentation next year. On that note, and to no one’s surprise, new images of the brand’s alleged GS77 Stealth gaming laptop have leaked and have begun circulating online, along with hardware specification details.
The leaked information, which has appeared on sites such as the French online retailer, PC21.fr, gives us an idea of what we can expect. To start, the GS77 Stealth is clearly being set up as the successor of the GS66 Stealth line that MSI has marketed for the last two years.
Specs-wise, the laptop is equipped with Intel’s 12th generation Alder Lake mobile CPUs; the lowest-tier SKU sports a Core i7-12700H, while the top-of-the-line model seems to be rocking a Core i9-12900H. On that note, it should be pointed out that the PC21 list does not indicate a Core i9-12900HK.
As for the discrete graphics, the 12th generation Intel CPUs will be paired either with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Max-Q, RTX 3080 Max-Q, or RTX 3080 Ti Max-Q. The latter GPU option is interesting, especially since NVIDIA itself has yet to officially confirm or acknowledge that such a discrete GPU has already entered production.
One other interesting detail to note is the choice of memory standard in the SKUs. From what is being listed, it appears that the GS77 Stealth SKUs equipped with the 12700H will be paired with DDR4 RAM, while the units running on the 12900H will be paired with the new and faster DDR5 memory standard.
Aesthetically, the GS77 Stealth still seems to follow the thin and light design and gaming standard, with the 17-inch display still retaining the protruding spine design its parent company has been utilising since the launch of the GT76 Titan. Oh, and as for pricing, the laptop could retail at a starting price of around 2800 Euros (~RM13263) and up to 4460 Euros (~RM)21127.
In any case, we’ll just have to wait until 5 January to find out more.
