Samsung has begun to roll out the One UI 4 update for Malaysian users. Based on Android 12, the update is now available for owners of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The update’s file size may be different from one model to another but on our S21 Ultra, it was 2.67GB. Hence, you may want to have a considerably fast and stable Wi-Fi connection before you begin to update your device by choosing Settings > Software update > Download and install.
In general, Samsung is the first major Android OEM to launch a stable Android 12 update for consumers. One UI 4 brings a bunch of new privacy and customisation features, including the ability to adapt your phone’s theme to a colour palette generated from your wallpaper, similar to the Google Pixel’s dynamic colour feature that is part of Material You’s design personalisation.
For owners of other Samsung devices, you’ll have to wait your turn as the update will be released in stages. Samsung accidentally leaked the update schedule which you can check out here, but keep in mind that it’s not officially confirmed. If the schedule is to be believed, the foldable Galaxy Z Series, as well as the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S10 family of devices will be getting One UI 4 between December 2021 and January 2022.
