Like many other social media platforms today, Instagram gives users the option to host live video streams. Though as it is, the user themselves will have to not only be hosting the live video stream, but also manage the community’s comments on it. But it looks like the social media platform is currently working to allow hosts add moderators to their live videos.
Or, as it looks like for now, a single moderator. App researcher Alessandro Paluzzi posted Instagram screenshots that give us a glimpse of what the interface would look like when it happens. Though according to the screenshots he posted on Twitter, users will have to start with only being able to assign one moderator.

Naturally, whether or not someone needs a chat moderator for their live videos depend on the size of their following. If you have a small number of followers who are all friendly and not predisposed to trolling, then you probably wouldn’t need to worry about needing a mod. But for social media superstars with thousands if not millions of followers, such accounts will likely need an army of mods themselves.
All that being said, it’s still not known if or when Instagram will be rolling this feature out. Though considering the interface has already been thought out, it’s more than likely a matter of when rather than if. Last month, the social media platform announced that users can schedule a live video up to 90 days in advance.
