The recent release of Alienware Aurora R13 has generally made Dell the first major OEM to release a ready-made desktop machine with 12th Gen Intel Core processors in Malaysia. As it turns out, the company is not yet done as Dell will also be offering the new Alder Lake chips for the latest iteration of XPS Desktop.
The 2021 edition of XPS Desktop not only offers a brand-new processor line-up but also a redesigned chassis that is 42% larger than its predecessor at 27 litres. The new chassis also has an improved airflow which works hand-in-hand with the 125W thermal solution that Dell has equipped into the machine to allow it to run at a much lower temperature than its predecessor.
In fact, Dell claimed the operating temperature of the 2021 XPS Desktop is up to 21% cooler than its predecessor. The new model is also the first XPS Desktop that can be obtained with a liquid CPU cooler which would lower down the operating temperature even further.
Furthermore, Dell also claimed that the 2021 XPS Desktop is more than 50% quieter than previous models. Hardware-wise, the machine can support up to 128GB of RAM, two solid state drives, and two hard drives alongside up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 or AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT.
Since the machine has yet to be listed on Dell Malaysia’s website, the full hardware options for the 2021 XPS Desktop in our market are not yet known. That being said, the company has informed us that the machine has a base price of RM5,999 once it is made available in Malaysia in early December 2021.
