Amy Hennig should be no stranger to anyone who likes story-driven singleplayer games, or the Uncharted series. We’ve seen reports of her having worked on a Star Wars title under EA which got cancelled. Hopefully her new project doesn’t face the same fate, as she is currently working on a Marvel game.
Details on the upcoming game is scarce at the moment. Marvel made the announcement on its own website, saying that it is working with Skydance New Media, which Hennig leads, for the game. It will feature a “completely original story and take on the Marvel Universe”. Which is about as vague a statement as it can possibly get.
After holding our cards close to the vest for so long, we’re excited to finally be able to share the news! We’re having a blast working with @MarvelGames on our first project at @Skydance New Media, and can’t wait until we can share more. Excelsior! https://t.co/opj87SJwQ6

Perhaps Hennig’s own tweet provides some clues. At the end she says Excelsior, which is latin for “ever upward”. It was the late Stan Lee’s catchphrase, but it doesn’t also mean much as far as narrowing down the scope of the upcoming game. Or maybe it’s a reference to a weapon with both Kree and Skrull origins.
All speculation aside, Skydance says that it will share more information about the game “when the time is right”. And that’s all we can realistically wait for. But considering that both the studio and Amy Hennig herself are still not ready to reveal any detail beyond Marvel, it will probably only get released at the tail end of next year.
