It looks like Warner Bros wants in on the platform fighter space as well, following the launch of the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. But it looks like NetherRealm Studios will not be involved in the making of this one, despite being essentially the fighting game dev of the publisher.
A leak posted on Reddit identifies the game as being called Mutliversus. Like the aforementioned Nickelodeon platform fighter, this one will have characters from all over the Warner Bros IP library duking it out against one another. The leaker claims that the game was in development before the Nickelodeon game was announced. so it appears that it’s not so much a case of trend chasing copycat move that one might think it to be.
This WB platform fighter is real, but it is not a Netherrealm game. Come on. https://t.co/WkMiKf4dTH

The initial leak has also pegged the Warner Bros platform fighter as being one that’s made by the Mortal Kombat Studio NetherRealm. But GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb has shot this one element down on Twitter. Which makes sense, Grubb previously reported that the studio will be focusing on its own Mortal Kombat series due to the uncertainty with the whole WB acquisition mess.
All that being said, it’s best to take all of this with a pinch of salt until Warner Bros makes an actual announcement. But when it happens, it would be the second platform fighter to try to capitalise on the strong end to Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC lineup.
