Local telco XOX has recently launched the B54DB plan, a new data buffet plan under their BLACK postpaid banner that offers customers up to 48GB of monthly data. We say “up to” because it apparently starts with 8GB of data, but it will be replenished every time your data goes below 2GB.
How it works is that when your data dips below the 2GB threshold, it will automatically be renewed with 10GB. This happens at a maximum of four times every month, hence where the additional 40GB comes from. The caveat is that while the first 10GB renewal is still high-speed data, the following 30GB worth of renewals are capped at 3Mbps.
Once you are on the 3Mbps speed limit, XOX says that you won’t be able to unlock high-speed until your next bill cycle, even if you buy data add-ons and seasonal passes. On the bright side, the telco allows you to carry forward any unused data you have into the next cycle in addition to the base 8GB, which will enable high-speed even if the data being carried forward was speed-capped.
XOX is also giving subscribers unlimited hotspot use as long as you still have data remaining with no limits on the number of devices that can be connected at one time. Moreover, the plan comes with unlimited calls and 100 SMS, which can also be carried forward to your next cycle.
The B54DB plan starts at a promotional price of RM49 per month from 21 October 2021 until 21 January 2022. Those subscribing after this period will be subjected to the original rate of RM54 per month. As with other XOX BLACK plans, it is contract-free.
You can learn more about the plan at XOX’s FAQ page and if you’re interested in subscribing, you can visit their website.
