HONOR has announced that the HONOR 50 will be making its official debut in Malaysia on 18 October. In the video that accompanied the announcement, the company also noted Malaysia is the first market outside of China to receive the phone.
Originally launched in China four months ago, the HONOR 50 consisted of three different models including the standard variant as well as the Pro version, and SE. Based on what has been listed on HONOR Malaysia’s website, it seemed that our market is going to receive only the standard HONOR 50 at launch.
Equipped with a 6.57-inch OLED display that has a native resolution of 2340 x 1080, 120Hz refresh rate, and 300Hz touch sampling rate, HONOR 50 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor. In terms of memory and storage options, HONOR Malaysia’s website at the moment has listed 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB.
One of the phone’s major attractions is its 108MP main camera which is being accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro camera as well as a 2MP depth sensor. There is also a 32MP selfie camera on the top centre part of the HONOR 50’s display.
Pre-installed with Android 11-based MagicUI 4.2, completing HONOR 50’s general specifications is a 4300mAh battery that supports the company’s 66W SuperCharge charger which allows the phone to be fully charged in 45 minutes. Stay tuned for more details regarding the phone’s availability in our market as we go through its Malaysian launch event on 18 October.
