Microsoft has recently unveiled several new devices under its Surface line-up including the Surface Laptop Studio which was deemed by many as the star of the launch event that took place last month. However, the company has yet to announce the availability of the new convertible in Malaysia although a recent update to Surface’s official website for our market has provided some hints.
If you browse the website right now, you would notice that the Surface Laptop Studio has now been listed as part of the Surface line-up for consumers. Not only that, there is also a label that says “Coming early 2022” on its name:
In addition to that, the Surface Pro 8 has made its way to the list as well. Just like the Laptop Studio, this particular model is heading to our market in 2022.
As you may notice from their physical appearance, both Laptop Studio and Pro 8 are two worlds’ apart. The Pro 8 retained the traditional Surface design which incorporated a kickstand and detachable Type Cover as per other Pro models before it while Laptop Studio was equipped with a floating-like hinge that allows it to be utilised in three different modes.
Aside from what we have shown above, Microsoft did not provide additional details such as hardware options and pricing on the website though. At the moment, the only product from the Surface’s September event that is available in Malaysia is the Surface Go 3 which was rolled out yesterday just in time with the arrival of Windows 11 and has a starting price of RM1,888.
