Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin was dubbed as a “bold new vision” for the series when it was first announced back in June. There was a demo for the game at the time, but no release date. That has since changed with the release of a new trailer, which comes with the release date at the end.
The trailer itself shows more gameplay, as well as bits of story. Many of the plot points here will be familiar if you know, or remember, the plot of the very first Final Fantasy. One major standout, among others, is the boss Tiamat. The trailer also reveals that the protagonist’s name is Jack Garland, and we all know who Garland is or was in the first game.
In the description of the trailer, Square Enix also announced that there is another demo of the game. Though this is only accessible to PS5 and Xbox Series X or S consoles. And it will only be available until 11 October 2021.
As for the game itself, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will be available on both generations of both console brands, as well as PC. Although it does look like it will be an Epic Games Store exclusive for the latter, though no indication as to whether this is a timed or permanent deal.
