Leaks shared independently by numerous sources have provided plenty of insight on DJI’s purportedly upcoming Mavic 3 drone. It is revealed that the new product will sport an entirely new design from its predecessor and comes with a dual-camera system as well.
The leaks, which allegedly consists of the Mavic 3’s user manual and live photos, were provided by industry leaksters Jasper Ellens and OsitaLV, as well as online publication DroneDJ. All three sources suggest that the device will be the brand’s first ever drone that would feature a dual-main camera system, which comprises a 1/2-inch 12MP telephoto and a 4/3-inch 20MP main sensor.
The telephoto is said to come with an aperture of f/4.4 and a 160mm zooming capability, while the main camera would feature a variable aperture of f/2.8 to f/11 and a FOV (field of view) of 84-degrees. The leaks claim that the DJI Mavic 3’s imaging system is capable of capturing 5.3K footage and also wirelessly transmit real-time HD videos up to 15km away to the included Smart Controller V2, which is equipped with an integrated display.

Another reportedly major upgrade featured on the Mavic 3 is its battery, which comes in a massive 5,000mAh capacity – a significant boost over the 3,850mAh battery that is included with its predecessor, the Mavic 2 series. According to DroneDJ, the new drone will be able to achieve a flight time of roughly 46 minutes in optimal conditions. It is also revealed that the device can also be charged directly via USB-C port, which can also be used to transfer necessary files for future firmware updates.
