Battlefield Mobile may have appeared on the Google Play Store, but most of the world does not yet have access to it. The only exceptions with the privilege to do so are our fellow Southeast Asian neighbours, Indonesia and the Philippines. Publisher Electronic Arts said that testing starts in autumn this year. Which we must have already entered, as footage of the game have begun to show up on the internet.
MP1st has found footage of presumably Battlefield Mobile playtesters giving the game a go. And as far as the videos show, it’s the standard fare gameplay of the series. In other words, lots of players on two sides, fighting to take control of respawn points and whittling down the lives of the opposing team.
As you’d expect from a mobile game, graphics are toned down as compared to what you’d see on, say, Battlefield 2042. Controls are also your typical shooter controls for mobile, with the virtual stick on the left for movement, buttons for certain actions on the right.
With playtesting having just started in the two countries, it’s difficult to say when EA will expand availability to other regions. The publisher will likely share more in due time, but it could take awhile.
