Back in June, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced two new colours for the DualSense, Cosmic Red and Midnight Black. Now, the company is giving a similar treatment to its Pulse 3D wireless headset to match the new controller colours. Or, controller colour, as the headset is only getting one new colourway.
On the PlayStation blog, the company announced that it will be releasing the Pulse 3D wireless headset in Midnight Black. Unfortunately, it’s only the one colour. But since the company also had an announcement video showcasing the headset with the matching DualSense controller colour, it makes the absence of the Cosmic Red version even more apparent.
The announcement post also makes mention of a new feature that came with its recent major software update. If you have it installed, you will have access to an equaliser for the Pulse 3D headset if you have one connected. You have three presets by default here, but you can save up to three more custom equaliser settings of your own.
But back to the Pulse 3D headset. SIE says that this will be available starting 29 October. As for its price, it looks like the company is not charging a premium for the different colour, as it still comes with the RM469 price tag as the standard white version. It’s a similar situation as the DualSense controller, with the Midnight Black version costing the same as the standard one.
