A new rumour is suggesting that Samsung may be launching the Fan Edition (FE) of its 2021 Galaxy S21 flagship next week. The phone – according to prior leaks – was initially planned to launch in August, but was then delayed indefinitely due to component shortages.
News of the Galaxy S21 FE’s upcoming launch was brought forward by leakster Mauri QHD via Twitter, who suggested that the event may take place next week on 8 September 2021. The leakster noted that the source is “often right”, but still cautioned followers to take the information with a grain of salt.

Meanwhile, in a separate leak that was posted a day after, reliable insider Max Weinbach tweeted a photo which somewhat corroborates with Mauri QHD’s rumour. The image in question highlights what appears to an unspecified Samsung store, featuring the Galaxy S21 FE’s branding at its display area – indicating that certain stores or regions are already gearing up for the phone’s supposedly imminent release.

The Fan Edition series is Samsung’s recent take on releasing a more affordable variant of its flagship devices, while retaining some of the product’s key hardware and features. The term itself first debuted with the Galaxy Note FE in 2017, which is actually a refurbished version of the Galaxy Note 7 with a smaller but improved battery. Samsung would then reuse the branding again a couple of years later with the launch of the Galaxy S20 FE in October of last year, and then the Galaxy Tab S7 FE in May 2021.
Whether the South Korean tech giant will launch the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE next week remains to be seen. We might also see an announcement from Samsung sometime soon regarding this, provided that this rumour is accurate.
