Back in June, Electronic Arts announced that the publisher is working on Skate 4, a new entry in the series after over a decade. Nothing much else was announced at the time. More recently, we’re getting another droplet of information regarding the game, and that’s the fact that it’s coming to PC.
The confirmation came from the official Skate Twitter account. The tweet itself simply says “PC_confirmation.exe”, and it’s as unambiguous as it gets. There’s also a short video of a skater doing tricks, with the last scene showing an old CRT monitor showing the game’s logo.

It’s great news, to some extent. But be that as it may, there’s basically no other information about the game that is available at the moment. Though it’s not exactly surprising. Two months ago, during the initial announcement, EA said that the game was still very early in development. So there’s only confirmation of one platform that the game will be available on.
All things considered, even this announcement feels like one of two things. It’s either premature, or unnecessary. Or even both. After all, if development of Skate 4 just started two months ago, is it really a good idea to announce one platform so early? An actual release may be at least two years away, if not more.
