The Bravely Default series has always been a Nintendo-exclusive series. The latest entry, Bravely Default II, is also exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. But that will change next week, as the game heads to Steam.
Despite the name, Bravely Default II is actually the third game in the series. And the good thing is that you don’t have to have played the other two in order to understand the story in this one, as it’s set in a different world altogether. So while the other two games in the series are still exclusive to the 3DS, you should be able to jump into this one no problem.
The acclaimed RPG #BravelyDefault II makes its way to Steam on September 2, 2021!

Plot-wise, the main cast is on a quest to retrieve stolen crystals of the four elements. Sounds like the general premise is quite similar to some of the Final Fantasy entries. No surprise, since both are made by Square Enix.
The company’s announcement tweet says that Bravely Default II will be available on Steam on 2 September. But Steam is kinder to audiences on the eastern side of the globe. After taking time zones into consideration, this will be 3 September for us. Since the game is not even a year old yet, it comes with a hefty, new-game price tag of RM239. But if you pay for it before 14 September, you’ll get a 10% discount.
