Selangkah Ventures, who are responsible for the creation of Selangor’s multifaceted contact tracing and health app Selangkah, has received authorisation from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to provide COVID-19 test for the IATA Travel Pass app.
First launched back in April, the IATA Travel Pass is designed to help travellers manage and store their COVID-19 test results as well as vaccinations certificate. Lab App which is one of the four key modules within the app made it possible for authorised labs and test centres to securely send test results and vaccination certificates directly to IATA Travel Pass.
Additionally, users can also obtain the location of the nearest authorised test and vaccination centres from the app. Malaysia Airlines is already testing the IATA Travel Pass since early this year and is currently working to integrate some of the modules into its own app.
According to the announcement by Selangkah Ventures, 13 partner clinics in Klang Valley have since been authorised to provide COVID-19 test for IATA Travel Pass. Among them are Selcare Clinics in Puchong, Sentosa Klang, Skypark Subang, and Shah Alam as well as KL Clinic branches in Menara Hap Seng 2, Menara Olympia, Menara Worldwide, and UBN Tower.
Meanwhile, users can also expect results from COVID-19 tests that are initiated through Selangkah will be integrated into IATA Travel Pass as well. While no actual timeline was provided in the announcement but the Chief Information Officer of Selangkah Ventures, Dr Helmi Zakariah has noted that this will take place sometime in the near future.
