Dell recently unveiled several new monitors including the Dell 14 Portable Monitor which turns out to be the company’s first foray into the portable monitor segment. At a glance, one could mistake it as a Dell laptop since the back area of the monitor, as well as the screen bezels, look exactly like many XPS, Inspiron, and Latitude laptops out there.
Comes with a 14-inch Full HD IPS panel that has a 60Hz refresh rate, 6ms response time, and 72% NTSC colour gamut coverage, the Dell 14 Portable Monitor which is also known as the C1422H also has a peak brightness level of 300 nits. Weights at around 0.59kg, it also has a thickness of 4.95mm and has a built-in tilt stand with a movement range of between 10 to 90 degrees.
Runs completely on USB-C ports, C1422H is equipped with two of them that support DisplayPort 1.2 alt mode. It also has a power passthrough feature which allows both your laptop and the monitor to be powered by a single USB-C power adapter, provided that the adapter’s power output is high enough.
Comes standard with a protective sleeve to make it easier to be carried around, the new Dell 14 Portable Monitor C1422H will be making its debut in Malaysia with a price tag of RM2,899 which is rather odd given that it is priced in the United States for US$349.99 (~RM1,478). Nevertheless, you may want to keep a look for its arrival on Dell Malaysia’s website sometime in early September.
