Gamescom is scheduled to happen this week, and anything game-related getting teased is likely to see an announcement when the event kicks off. One recent example is the teased reboot for the Saints Row series. Next in line is something that suggests a Resident Evil 4 remake.
Capcom, via the official Resident Evil Twitter account, put up something really simple that sent imaginations running wild. Fans of the series will remember it from the first Resident Evil game, which depicts an Umbrella researcher slowly succumbing to the T-virus infection. It could be a call back to the original game, or it could be hinting at a remake of Resident Evil. Though considering the fact that the second and third game were just recently remade, we’d lean on this being the case.
This tweet's a keeper.

Giving credence to the tweet is a reply by the official Xbox account. It doesn’t really confirm anything, but does suggest that something is coming up during Gamescom, and possibly during Microsoft’s slot in the event.
It’s worth mentioning that this involves a lot of speculation, so nothing is really set in stone. This will change once Gamescom is underway, after which we will know for sure if there is anything that Capcom is cooking up for the series.
