From smartphones to smart TVs, some may think realme’s catalogue is already vast enough. Well, now you can add “laptop maker” to the brand’s name as well after the OPPO’s spin-off has launched its own laptop called realme Book.
Barely a day after its global launch, realme has since confirmed that the brand will indeed launch the new laptop in our market. As you may expect, the debut is going to happen virtually and will take place on realme Malaysia’s Facebook page tomorrow, 20 August.
Featuring a 14-inch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a native resolution of 2160 x 1440, the realme Book can be obtained with either Intel Core i3-1115G4 or Core i5-1135G7. As realme Book does not come with discrete graphics, this means that the sub-1.5kg laptop will rely on the integrated Intel UHD Graphics on the Core i3 or Core i5’s Iris Xe Graphics.
The realme Book also comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB PCIe-based solid state drive while the Core i5 variant supports Thunderbolt 4 as well as Wi-Fi 6. It also features a 54Whr battery that is able to deliver up to 11 hours of battery life and users can obtain 50% of its battery capacity in 30 minutes through the laptop’s 65W fast charger.
While its local pricing is not yet known at the moment, the general price tag of realme Book ranges from US$749 (~RM3,177) to US$999 (~RM4,237) depending on specific configurations. We will keep you posted on the laptop’s local availability once the realme Book made its official Malaysian debut tomorrow, so stay tuned.
