Xiaomi has announced that it will be launching the Redmi 10 in Malaysia this week. Given that the existence of the phone has just been noticed sometime last month, its swift arrival in our market is rather interesting.
Designed for the entry-level market, the new Redmi 10 is equipped with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display that also comes with an Adaptive Sync feature which allows its refresh rate to cycle from 45Hz to 90Hz depending on the task. At the same time, the phone also comes with a MediaTek Helio G88 processor.
On its back, the Redmi 10 features a quad-camera module which has a 50MP f/1.8 main camera together with an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth cameras. On the top centre part of its screen, there is also a punch-hole 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera.
As you may expect from phones within this segment, Redmi 10 also features a 5000mAh battery. Xiaomi pointed out that the phone has an 18W fast charging capability although the USB-C charger that is included with it has a power output rating of 22.5W.
The Redmi 10 can also act as a power bank through its reverse charging feature which has a max output of 9W. Of course, there is an IR blaster on the phone while it also carries a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
In Malaysia, the phone can be obtained with a 4GB/64GB configuration for RM 649 and those who prefer a higher-end option can opt for the 6GB/128GB variant at RM 749. Consumers can expect to see Redmi 10 at Authorized Mi Stores and Xiaomi retailers throughout Malaysia as well as the brand’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee starting from 20 August onwards.
