About a week after its launch, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla had an issue with its save files. This gave players difficulty in both saving their progress and loading them when they wanted to continue. The former is cropping up again, and publisher Ubisoft has acknowledged the issue.
Via the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account, Ubisoft said that it is aware of the save file issue affecting PS5 and PS4 players of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The publisher goes on to say that it is actively working on a solution. The issue likely has something to do with the latest update to the game, which is The Siege of Paris expansion.
We're aware of a save file issue causing "Failed to save game progress" pop up for some PlayStation players and are actively working on a solution. Thank you for your patience.

While Ubisoft has only acknowledged issues faced by PlayStation players, it looks like it’s not the only platform affected. VGC reports that Xbox players have also reported facing the issue. Though this looks to be specific to the Xbox Series X and S, specifically their quick resume feature. There’s also one from a PC player of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as well.
Of course, save issues are not the only thing that’s plaguing The Siege of Paris expansion. Ubisoft has a list of existing issues with the new update, some of which are currently being investigated. The rest are expected to be fixed via the upcoming 1.3.1 update.
