The game files of a current game these days is a likely place to find information about its sequel. And that’s exactly what happened with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. With a recent update into its fifth season, the patch also added game files that allude to Call of Duty: Vanguard. It’s safe to say at this point that this is the name of this year’s CoD entry.
Charlie INTEL reports that images dug from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War have made their way online. These consists of artwork showcasing the logo and key art of the next game, Call of Duty: Vanguard. Some of these have been scrubbed from the internet, thanks to Activision issuing copyright strikes.
That being said, the images would indicate that Call of Duty: Vanguard will be another game going into the World War II setting. No real surprise there, ever since the very simply named Call of Duty: WWII back in 2017. The images also indicate that the game will have an open beta. Upon release, it will also have the usual ultimate edition, including a Cross-Gen Bundle.
Activision itself has not announced Call of Duty: Vanguard. Though from the franchise’s usual release schedule, it will likely be released in time for the holiday season. With that in mind, we may hear something official from the company by November.
